Google Fonts
Google has collected, and host, over 600 open source fonts. Although some are high quality,
professionally designed fonts (such as the Adobe Source Sans Pro range) many are poor quality. In
addition Google provide limited search and filtering capabilities, and little help in downloading and
installing the fonts onto your computer.
Photo & Graphic Designer 9 includes a brand new font browser enabling easy search and filtering of font
styles, and one-click download and install of the font to your computer.
By selecting the check boxes you can filter your search, Here it’s showing there are 37 sans-serif fonts that
are available as families (multiple styles) containing both Bold and Italic variants. Two of these 37
matching families have been expanded to show the family range.
It’s just as easy to search for, say, ‘Slab serif fonts containing italic variants’, or ‘all large families containing
ultra-lightweight fonts’.
The ‘High Quality Body’ option shows only fonts that are hand tuned (hinted) ‘body copy’, for screen sizes.
